Greening Burundi is an environmental non-profit organization created in August 2017 but officially registered on September 30, 2019 under ministerial order No 530/1898 of the government of Burundi.
Greening Burundi opened its doors of environmental preservation being like a Project initiated by Emmanuel Niyoyabikoze.
Many of the actions have been implemented among others the Planting of large numbers of trees, Fight against Environmental Pollution, educational reinforcement focused on the environment in order to educate, inspire the population to adopt measures suitable for the environment.
Following the climate change and its impacts such as deforestation of forests, Desertification, Global warming in Burundi, the soil gradually becomes infertile. As a result, the agricultural sector, which brings about 90% of Burundians to live is seriously damaged and production is almost unsatisfactory. Poverty is lodged in households, diseases directly related to malnutrition burst and the country becomes the first loser. Faced with these plagues, as a result, the Greening Burundi was born.
The Greening Burundi Project seeks to find lasting solutions through actions.
